How to fix the issue when Scheduled no longer has access to the Instagram account?

👉 The most common reason? The Instagram account is disconnected from its Facebook Page.

🔎 How to fix the issue: check these settings

1. Instagram is connected to a Facebook Page

Your Instagram account needs to be linked to a Facebook Page where you have Admin or Editor access.

How to check:

  • Switch to your Facebook Page
  • Go to Manage → Linked accounts → Instagram

🚨 Issue: If you see a grey message with a blue “Review Connection” button, the connection failed. Only a Page owner or someone with full access can renew it.

If there is no grey information message, it means your Instagram is properly connected.

2. Instagram is a professional account

Instagram must be set to Creator or Business mode (not a personal account).

How to switch:

  • Open Instagram and go to Menu → Settings and privacy
  • Select Account type and tools → Switch to professional account
  • Choose Business or Creator → Switch → Done

3. Facebook access and roles

With the new Facebook Page experience, you need full control access to manage your Instagram account through third‑party tools.

How to check:

  • Click here to manage your roles, or go to your Page → Manage → Page access
  • The Facebook account connected to Scheduled must have this access to the Page

4. Facebook business integrations

Scheduled needs permission to manage your Instagram account in Facebook’s business integrations.

How to check:

  • Log in to your personal Facebook account (not the FB Page/BM) and open Facebook business integrations
  • Or go to Settings and privacy → Settings → Business integrations
  • Find Scheduled, click View and edit, and turn on all permissions (if some are off)

5. Two‑factor authentication

If your Page requires two‑factor authentication, you also need to turn it on for your personal Facebook profile.

Final step: Refresh and try again

After making changes, reconnect your Facebook account in Scheduled so the updates are applied.

💡 Why is this necessary?

Scheduled is a business integration for Facebook (a third‑party app). Every time you connect a Facebook Page, you need to grant the required permissions so Scheduled can work properly.

These permissions can change without warning because of:

  • Password updates
  • Newly enabled two‑factor authentication
  • Changes in Facebook Page roles
  • Facebook’s internal security updates

That’s why the person managing the Facebook Page in Scheduled needs to review and update these settings when needed. 🙂
