How to enable link tracking for your posts?

In this article, you'll learn how to turn on link tracking in Scheduled. This feature lets you accurately measure how many clicks your links get in the posts you share on social media.

Link tracking lets you:

  • Measure the performance of your links and understand what your audience is interested in
  • Track clicks on each link before sending people to the final destination
  • Get accurate data directly in Notion so you can improve your content strategy

When tracking is enabled, Scheduled automatically replaces all the links in your posts with shortened links. These shortened links count the clicks before redirecting people to the original URL you added.

đź’ˇ Link tracking works both for links in the body of your post and for those published in the first automatic comment.

Tracking is enabled separately for each social connection you added in Scheduled. This means you can turn tracking on for some accounts and not for others.

Step 1: Go to your connection settings

  1. Go to one of the calendars you added in Scheduled
  2. Click Configuration
  3. Select Connect social accounts

Step 2: Turn on tracking for your connections

In this section, you'll see the list of all your social connections (LinkedIn profiles, LinkedIn pages, Instagram accounts, etc.).

For each connection, you'll find a toggle called "Link tracking".

Just switch it on for each connection where you want to measure clicks.

⚠️ Important: Once tracking is enabled, only new posts published after activation will be tracked. Posts that were already published won't be affected. This feature only applies to posts published by Scheduled.

Which connections should you enable?

You can enable link tracking for all your connections without exception. Links shared in the first comment are also tracked.

Our recommendation: turn on tracking for all your connections to get a full view of how your links are performing.

How to check that tracking works?

Once tracking is enabled:

  1. Publish a post containing a link from Notion
  2. After it’s published on the social network, check that the link has been replaced by a shortened link
  3. After a few clicks, check the sc_post_clicks metric in your Notion database to see how many clicks were recorded
