How to sync your LinkedIn stats in Notion without the Chrome extension?

Since the latest Scheduled update, you can track your LinkedIn stats without using the Chrome extension. Here’s how to easily switch to the official API and enjoy the new automated reports.

Why switch to the official LinkedIn API?

Until recently, Scheduled used a Chrome extension to fetch your LinkedIn stats (impressions, reactions, comments, shares). Now, the LinkedIn API provides this data in a secure, more reliable way, with no extra steps needed on your side.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • How to move from the extension to the LinkedIn API
  • What actually changes for your reports
  • The new features this transition unlocks

1. Understanding the transition: from Chrome extension to API

Before, you were getting your stats through a Chrome extension developed by Scheduled. This allowed Scheduled to read all the stats of your LinkedIn posts.

Today, LinkedIn has opened its API for stats, making the extension unnecessary. Your reports will now be:

  • More secure (controlled permissions)
  • More reliable (no more browser-related disconnections or crashes)
  • Automatic (updated every 8 hours without any action)

2. Moving from the Chrome extension to the official LinkedIn API

Here’s how to make the switch step by step:

Step 1: Reconnect your LinkedIn connection

  • Go to Scheduled, section “Connections”
  • Click your existing LinkedIn connection
  • Select “Reconnect” to refresh the permissions with the API

Reconnect your LinkedIn profile from Scheduled

This lets Scheduled officially access your stats and your follower count.

Step 2: Delete and recreate the LinkedIn report

  • Stay on the same connection page
  • Click “Disconnect” to detach the old connection linked to the Chrome extension

Disconnect your LinkedIn connection

  • Confirm the deletion of the report (Scheduled will let you know it will archive it before deleting it)
  • Don’t worry, your past LinkedIn data already stored in Notion is not deleted

Confirm the disconnection

Step 3: Add the LinkedIn connection via the API

  • Click “Add an account”
  • Choose the LinkedIn account you just disconnected
  • A message will offer to fetch the last 30 posts: accept if you want to automatically refresh your previous posts, or skip this step if you only care about future reports

Confirm fetching your history or skip this step

If you fetch the history, Scheduled will automatically update the posts already in your Notion database.

Step 4: Enjoy automated LinkedIn reporting

  • A new LinkedIn report is created and synced with your Scheduled calendar
  • LinkedIn stats (up to the last 30 posts and followers) are updated every 8 hours
  • No more extension or manual actions needed

3. What’s new in LinkedIn reporting on Scheduled

Manual refresh of stats

Want an instant update of your numbers?

  • Go to the “Widgets” section in Scheduled
  • Copy the link to add the refresh button in your Notion
  • Click this button anytime to update your LinkedIn stats without waiting 8 hours

Archiving and recovering your old history

When you delete your old report, Scheduled archives the old stats (only inside Scheduled, not in Notion). If you want them linked to the new API report, contact the support team via the chat: they can transfer or reconnect the history for you.

4. Impact on reports and automation

  • You get fully automated reporting, directly connected to Notion
  • No more manual setup required
  • Old LinkedIn stats stay in your Notion database
  • If a post is among the last 30, its data will be updated automatically

5. Frequently asked questions

Do I lose the historical stats from my old posts?

No, all the data already in your Notion database stays available. Only the reports in Scheduled are archived, not your posts.

Can I force a sync without waiting 8 hours?

Yes, with the manual refresh widget, you can update your numbers on demand.

Is automated LinkedIn reporting available on all plans?

LinkedIn reporting via API is included in all Scheduled plans. Just check your social connection and Notion DB limits based on your plan.
