How to publish your first LinkedIn post from Notion?

In this guide, you'll learn how to publish your first LinkedIn post directly from Notion using Scheduled. We'll go through the setup process step by step, from initial configuration to publishing your first post.

Step 1: Set Up Your Notion Editorial Calendar

Create or duplicate the template:
- Start from scratch with your own database
- Or duplicate our free template that includes all necessary properties
- Rename your database (e.g., "My LinkedIn Posts")

💡 If you manage multiple databases, create a dedicated "Scheduled Databases" page to centralize them. This will make access management easier.

Step 2: Connect Notion with Scheduled

Go to Notion connection settings in Scheduled
Select the correct Notion workspace
Use the search bar to find your database
Important: Only share the necessary databases, not your entire Notion workspace

Step 3: Configure Essential Properties

For Scheduled to work properly, you need to configure three key properties:

1. "Connections" Property:
- Allows Scheduled to know where to publish (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
- Type: Multi-select
- Scheduled will automatically add options when connecting social networks

2. "Publication Date" Property:
- Type: Date
- Include both date AND time of publication

3. "Status" Property:
- Type: Select
- Required options:
- "Ready to be scheduled" (or equivalent)
- "Published" (for post-publication tracking)
- Other statuses as needed (Draft, To Review, etc.)

⚠️ If you modify property names, remember to update the synchronization in Scheduled.

Step 4: Connect Your LinkedIn Profile

In Scheduled, go to "Social"
Click "Add connection"
Choose "LinkedIn Profile"
Authorize access to your LinkedIn account

Step 5: Configure Default Publication Time

To avoid midnight publications by default:
Set up a default publication time in Scheduled
This time will be used if you forget to specify a time in Notion

Step 6: Activate Automatic Retrieval (Optional)

You have two options for publication:

Option 1 - Automatic:
- Enable "Auto fetch Notion post"
- Scheduled will check every 2 hours for new posts to publish
- Ideal for advance scheduling

Option 2 - Manual with Scheduled Button:
Get the Scheduled button link from the "Widgets" tab
Integrate it into your Notion base
Create a "Button" property
Configure the webhook with the provided URL

Step 7: Publish Your First Post

Create a new page in your database
Write your content
Configure:
- Publication date
- Time (or use default)
- Status "Ready to be scheduled"
- LinkedIn connection
Use the Scheduled button or wait for automatic sync

Advanced Features

- Pre-publication modifications: Scheduled checks for changes until the last moment
- Multiple management: Ability to manage several LinkedIn profiles/pages
- Publication tracking: Status automatically updated after publication

Key Points to Remember

Always verify these three elements before scheduling:
✅ The date AND time of publication
✅ Status "Ready to be scheduled"
✅ Correct LinkedIn connection selected
